811 is the primary attack truck. This truck is a class A pupmer and rolls first for all structure fires. It is a 1987 Ford with top mount pump. The truck has 2 pre-connected 1 3/4" crosslays 150 and 200 feet, 700 feet of 4 inch large diameter hose, 4 ISI Air Packs, generator, fans, and various hand tools. The truck is equipped with a 1,000 gallon tank and 1,000 GPM pump. The truck is small, light, and mobile allowing it to get into the many tight and difficult areas within the Mayfield Fire District. The purpose of this truck is supply water to the attack hand lines used by the firefighters. The 1,000 gallons of water are sufficient in any primary attack, within 60 seconds this truck will be supplied with additional water, either from 812, water hydrants, or a combination of both. In approximately 2 years this truck will no longer be compliant with current NFPA regulations concerning the first out truck. The Fire department is currently in the early planning stages considering the replacement of this truck. |
